YARD HOUSE- CINCINNATI, OH

95 E Freedom Way, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Welcome back to the blog! Because I am in school this summer that means this is the first year I won’t be at home for my birthday. Luckily my mom and grandparents were nice enough to come to visit me in Cincinnati and celebrate! I decided I wanted to eat out at The Yard House for my birthday, which is located along the river in downtown Cincinnati so it had a pretty good view. The staff both times I’ve been here have both been so kind and patient despite it being pretty busy. They really seem like they want you to enjoy your experience as much as possible even though it can get pretty loud and busy in there (I experienced this on my first visit).

To begin the meal we all shared the Spinach Cheese Dip and I also decided to get the Tortilla Soup because I’ve had it before and it is delicious! There is so much flavor and has the perfect amount of spice to it. The Spinach Cheese Dip was also very good however I could’ve gone for a little more cheese and a little less spinach. It had a consistency similar to creamed spinach rather than a cheese dip.

For the main dishes, the four of decided on 4 pretty different dishes and everyone seemed to love them. I personally got the Lobster & Shrimp Agnolotti which consisted of a seafood stuffed pasta, lobster, shrimp, and a lemongrass lobster sauce. The seafood was all very fresh and cooked well as was the pasta. The ravioli had an amazing filling that was pretty rich but amazing! I was afraid at first the dish would be one dimensional with all the lobster items but it was actually pretty diverse. They did a good job of treating each lobster component differently. My grandparents decided on the Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Braised Short Rib Ravioli and they both said their meals were very delicious. I’ve had the Braised Short Rib Ravioli on a previous visit and can say it is delicious! It has a very rich flavor and is a pretty hearty meal. The green beans and tomatoes really help to give it a fresh element and make the dish come together. My mom decided on getting the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger which she really enjoyed. The meat was cooked perfectly and was juicy and flavorful. Can’t go wrong with a good burger!

To top things off our waitress brought me out a Chocolate Souffle on the house to celebrate my birthday! I was super full so I had to take it home but it very rich (which I love) and I give the presentation an A+.

On a side note, the Pomegranate Margaritas are great and if you’re in the mood for a fruity drink you should try it out!
